Manchester United have launched a shocking move for ex Chelsea and currently Atletico Madrid’s striker, Alvaro Morata this summer.

That is according to Turkish outfit , who reports that United are ready to pay the โ‚ฌ12 million clause in Alvaro Morataโ€™s Atletico Madrid contract.

Footyvaild Understands that one of Sir Jim Ratcliffeโ€™s priorities will be to sign a new striker for Erik Ten Hag’s team as the Red Devils are short in that area of the pitch despite having โ‚ฌ85 million signing, Rasmus Hojlund.

Rasmus Hojlund impressed after joining Man Utd for ยฃ64m last summer as he scored 16 goals in his 43 appearances across all competitions.

But the Denmark international would benefit from having a striker to compete with, close sources told Footyvaild that Ratcliffe wants a striker this summer in a bid to ease the pressure on Danish Striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The Alvaro Morata to Manchester United Saga may come as a surprise for many Premier League fans as Morata endured a dismal couple of seasons at Chelsea between 2017 and 2019, scoring just 24 goals in 72 games and being criticised for his poor finishing.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata’s wonderful performances at Euro 2024 are boosting his chances of getting a move as the Spain international is attracting โ€˜interestโ€™ from Manchester United and other top European football clubs like Dortmund, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Roma.
