Manchester United exiled forward Mason Greenwood has officially joined the French club from Old trafford in a £30million deal.
Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Spanish side Getafe, has penned a contract until 2029.
Last term was his first back on the pitch since being suspended by United in January 2022 following his charge of attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour towards a woman.
All criminal charges were eventually dropped in February 2023 after a key witness withdrew.
The Manchester United’s academy graduate appreciates the New United’s Hierarchy despite a decision again keeping him in the club beyond this summer.
“I’m sorry it ended this, I love Manchester United and the Fans, I already had the opportunity to express myself on this subject last year, it is now behind us.”
Meanwhile the Englishman has always insisted he is innocent of all allegations been labeled against him.
Marseille face Sunderland in a pre-season friendly on August 3 at Bradford City’s Valley Parade, with the Stadium of Light unavailable due to renovation work.
Greenwood, born in Bradford, could make his first appearance back in England since his arrest in January 2022 following allegations surrounding material published online.
