Rudd Van Nistelrooy Points Out 4 Mistakes Ruben Amorim Made In Man United’s 1-1 Draw To Ipswich

2 min read

It’s not the start Manchester United’s Fans want from their new manager as Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United debut ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw with Ipswich.

There was intrigue around the Red Devils ahead of Amroim’s bow, following his appointment as the club’s new manager. However, United were unable to build on their opener scored inside two minutes.

The Red Devils dominated possession in the second half, though Ipswich created the better chances at Portman Road. Andre Onana’s brilliant save from Liam Delap ensured Amorim’s first game did not end in defeat.

Meanwhile, Former Man United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy assessed the performance at full-time and questioned whether a change in manager would be enough to salvage the club’s season.

“We saw the shape of the team but it is the same players and same problems. We talk about leopards and spots,” Rudd says

“Lack of goals and lack of quality in the second half. Ipswich looked the better team.

“It’s his first game. A lot to take in and it has been a mental week for him [Amorim] but ultimately he will be disappointed.

“This team, for the last year or two, has been all about moments.

“United sat back and you’re thinking, what are you waiting for? Go after them!!!

Also, Rudd Van Nistelrooy stated Amorim Mistakes in the game by saying that, Burno Fernandes role should be made vital.

The Red Devils captain was sensational under Ruud van Nistelrooy and has probably been the team’s best player since signing in 2020.

However, he had a very quiet first half where he could barely influence proceedings at all.

Amorim’s 3-4-3 does not have an obvious fit for Fernandes as the players behind the striker need to create some width and the Portuguese is certainly more comfortable closer to goal in a more central position.

United’s captain is an intelligent player and incredibly hard-working, so it would be foolish to bet against him finding a role in Amorim’s team but as of now, it is far from clear where he fits in the puzzle
