Another Chelsea Star Hands In A Transfer Request To Leave The Club

According to reports, Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, who joined from FC Basel in the summer, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Borussia Dortmund.

The German outfit are keen on securing Veiga on a loan deal that includes an option to buy at the end of the season.

Though Chelsea are still reluctant for a January sale, but it’s said the Portuguese defender has handed in a transfer request to vacate the London club this January.

Veiga is keen to secure more playing time over the course of the second half of the season and he is receptive to ideas of an exit from Chelsea.

Securing game time at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca has proven to be difficult, though he did play for the full 90 minutes against Morecambe in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Blues would prefer a permanent sale should the Portugal international, 21, leave but an obligation to buy at the end of the season could satisfy their demands.

Chelsea have not encouraged the approach from the German club and have already turned down a loan approach from Wolves this month.

Chelsea are only keen on selling Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei this January, while Maresca has denied the club are pushing Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Axel Disasi out of the club despite interest.
