Manchester United produced a brilliant fightback in the second half as they came back from two goals down to claim an unlikely point against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Manuel Ugarte’s stunning strike and an overturned penalty decision at the death helped Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United escape with a 2-2 comeback draw at David Moyes’ Everton.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor at Old Trafford (Amorim) looked set to inflict a 13th Premier League defeat of the season on the wretched Red Devils, who have won just four top-flight games since the Portuguese arrived in November.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United’s Coach Sir Alex Ferguson has reacted to Manchester United lucky draw away from home against Everton.
Speaking with Footyvalid reporters at fulltime, Sir Alex Ferguson Reacted to Bruno Fernandes and Ugarte’s late goals to scratch out a point for Ruben Amorim’s team as they sit 15th on the log.
“It’s an important game for the players and the Coach especially with the way the season is going, if they’ll stand a chance for European football next season”
“The manager has to address the Midfielders… They need to work hard on and off the ball” Alex Ferguson added…
Meanwhile , ahead of the game, Amorim explained that with the game likely to be a heavy-hitting and physical game, he chose to play Casemiro and Ugarte in the middle of the park.
However, United were completely overrun in the first half, with Casemiro and Ugarte unable to handle the pressure Everton was putting them under. Both players also lost a lot of their battles.
Casemiro was taken off after an hour, and Ugarte improved on the ball, which greatly helped the club control the game and fight back for their draw.
