It’s an entertaining afternoon at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea welcomed Everton at Stamford Bridge earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League.
Despite not having head Coach Enzo Maresca on the touchline, the Blues made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 27th minute thanks to Nicolas Jacksonโs sharp finish. Enzo Marescaโs men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
The Londoners defended their narrow lead well in the second half and secured a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home fans.
Meanwhile, Everton’s manager David Moyes has shift blames to Chelsea for Everton’s defeat at Stamford Bridge.
During an interview at full time, the former West Ham coach stated that Chelsea were good all round especially with Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez playing on another level today against the toffees.
Speaking about Chelsea’s roles in Everton’s defeat, David Moyes said…ย
“The problem was probably Chelsea [in the first half], they were fast and showed great intensity. That’s probably the problem more than us.”
โThe goalkeeper made a couple of good saves and maybe we should have finished those chances off. We didnโt play at our best. Earlier in the season, we were getting those goals but at the moment we are struggling to get those goals.โ
Nevertheless, Chelsea were made to work hard for all three points however protected their record of never losing to David Moyes at Stamford Bridge.
The performance was by no means perfect, and Chelsea looked to their goalkeeper to bail them out on a number of ocassions in the second half.
