Aston Villa and England striker Ollie Watkins who’s recently been linked to Chelsea and Manchester United after a wonderful Premier League campaign, has now debunked claims that he’s heard something about Chelsea this season.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, 28, claims he’s heard a lot of negativity when it comes to Chelsea this season.
However, he’s jumped to the defence of Pochettino’s side by claiming they’ve not been bad this year and are on the up.
“People say Chelsea have had a bad year, but I don’t think they have. They’ll be even stronger [next season],” Watkins said via The Mirror.
The English man scored 19 times and provided 13 assists in a brilliant Premier League campaign, he also clinched the Premier League’s playmaker of the year Award.
The 28-Year-Old has been in and around Gareth Southgate ’s squad for the past three years and is one of the understudies to skipper Harry Kane.
Watkins scored as many goals as Bournemouth ’s Dominic Solanke but his assists total makes him the leading frontrunner to board the plane for Germany next month.
