Amad netted a dramatic winner for Man United on Sunday, helping them defeat Manchester City 2-1 in the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.
Amad admitted that he had been “working so hard” to experience a moment as special as scoring the winner in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
After Bruno Fernandes had brought United level with 88 minutes on the clock, cancelling out Josko Gvardiol’s first-half opener by scoring a penalty, United snatched all three points in the final minute of normal time when Lisandro Martínez delivered a moment of magic, playing an exquisite long ball to Amad.
The young winger showed extraordinary composure, rounding Ederson and finishing clinically to seal a stunning 2-1 victory for United in the dying moments.
Speaking to Footyvalid after the game, Amad revealed that, he had a funny conversation with Pep after the final whistle, Amad also stated that he did not believe the ball would be good enough before he adjusted to score.
“At Fulltime He (Pep Guardiola) came to me and we exchanged Hand shakes, He congratulated me and said but I should more”… Amad says about his conversation with Guardiola.
“I was so happy to score against City and so happy to win this game. I want to enjoy this moment today and then let’s focus for the next game.” He added.
