Despite a disappointing afternoon at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea yet again recorded another injury setback as starman Malo Gusto was subbed off in the 80th minute of the game.ย
The 20-Year-Old Right back has been in superb form in recent weeks in the injury absence of Reece James, but he has now suffered another setback.
Gusto sustained a hamstring issue against the Clarets earlier today at Stamford Bridge in a shocking 2-2 draw against Relegation battling Burnley. Chelsea now face an anxious wait over the extent of the damage as he’s expected to go for a scan.ย
Meanwhile there’s no guarantee that James will be available for the season run-in and the setback for Gusto could be a huge blow for the London side. Recce James underwent a surgery for a serious hamstring injury back in December and Mauricio Pochettino is still unsure when he could be available again this season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea will face high-flying Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Thursday Night and it’s now unsure whether Malo Gusto will be available.ย
We’ve seen Axel Disasi or Marc Cucurella right back theory before, Pochettino could also be considered giving 18-Year-Old Gilchrist a chance.
Alfie Gilchrist replaced Malo Gusto during the closing stages of the game and he was far from comfortable on the defensive side, they’re possibilities that the Cobham graduate will be Manning the right back position against Manchester United.ย
Aside from Gusto, the Blues are also without left-back Ben Chilwell, who returned from international duty recently with a fresh injury, the likes of Lavia, Nkunku, Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu, Colwill, Chalobah and Wesley Fofana are still all out.ย
