Ahead of the Summer transfer window, Manchester United yet again confirmed another first team player.
Anthony Martial has just confirmed he is leaving Manchester United when his contract expires this summer. The 28-year-old joined the Red Devils from Monaco nine years ago in a deal worth an initial ยฃ36million in 2015, making him at the time the most expensive teenager in world football.
The French striker was a popular figure among United supporters but saw his time at the club ravaged by injury, particularly in later years where he was regularly sidelined by injury.
Martial missed out on a place in the FA Cup final squad against Man City due to his latest injury setback, meaning his last appearance for the club came in the 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth earlier in the year.
Meanwhile the Frenchman took to his social media handle on Monday evening, to pen a heartfelt farewell message to supporters saying….
“Dear Manchester United fans, It’s with great emotion that I write to you today to say goodbye.
After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career.
The Reds Chiefs will now be in the market this summer to purchase a suitable replacement for Anthony Martial at Old Trafford.
