“Ask Chelsea” Romelu Lukaku Walked Out On Interviewer When Asked About Chelsea Future

1 min read

On loan Chelsea Striker Romelu Lukaku walked out of an interview with an English reporter after an awkward question about his Chelsea future.

The Belgium striker, currently on loan at Roma and enjoying an impressive season, was one of the stars of the show at Wembley as they led twice in their Euro 2024 friendly with England but were held to a draw by a late Jude Bellingham strike.

He’s still under contract at Chelsea and after 18 goals in 37 games in Italy this season, it remains to be seen if he could be brought back into the fold under Mauricio Pochettino.

One thing is for sure, though – he doesn’t want to talk about that now. And understandably so.

He was asked in a post-match interview to sum up the game and things were initially cordial as he said: “That’s football at the end of the day. It’s not over til the referee blows his whistle, but we have to continue. It’s a team in progress and we produced an OK performance today.”

The reporter then shifted the subject, saying: “Your performance and assist for the second goal were really impressive. When you come back to England, is there a bit of you that really wants to impress?”
