Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shift praises on Man United Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and captain Bruno Fernandes, for the Duo performance against the gunners to dump them out of the FA Cup.
Arteta gives his verdict on Altay Bayindir after the Turkish shot-stopper’s performance against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
“Two performance from the both {Bruno and Bayindir} especially for the Goalkeeper, he’s on another level and they got the win” Mikel Arteta says…
Altay Bayindir, who was signed by Erik ten Hag in 2023 from Fenerbahce, has played second fiddle to Andre Onana and played sporadically for United since his signing.
Bayindir struggled in the first half at times and showed vulnerabilities, with the former Fenerbahce ‘keeper poorly distributing the ball with his feet.
The Turkey international’s performance took another interesting turn in the second half after Diogo Dalot picked up a second booking and was sent off.
Bayindir turned his performance around late in the second half after he denied Martin Odegaard from the spot-kick and kept the scoreline level in the 72nd minute, he went on to save more penalties in the shootout to win it for the Red Devils.
For Bruno Fernandes, the Reds skipper put United in the lead seven minutes after the break, smashing in a good pass from Alejandro Garnacho.
Bruno Fernandes who was arguably United’s best performers, beyond his goal, touched the ball 50 times and won 100% of the tackles he delved into.
