According to reliable reports, Chelsea could be interested in signing Napoli super star Kvaratskhelia, who have now handed in a transfer request to leave the Italian champions this summer.
Meanwhile, Fabrizo Romano says clubs from the Premier League have shown an interest in Kvaratskhelia, but one problem for Chelsea, the only specific English club he named in his report, is that theyโre now out of the Champions League for next season.
The agent and father of the Georgian star have expressed their willingness for the attacker to leave the Serie A club this summer, following a disastrous title defence that saw them not only fail to defend the Scudetto but slumped to a mid-table finish.
Mamuka Jugeli, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, said: “I donโt want people to think that Kvara wants to stay at Napoli
โWe want to leave, but we are waiting for the end of the Euros so as not to disturb Khvicha. The priority is to join a team that plays in the Champions League.”
His father, Badri, added: I donโt want my son to stay at Napoli. They changed three coaches last season, and itโs hard to play in a similar situation.”
Nevertheless, Napoli board gave a warm response to the comments, insisting that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale.
โWith reference to statements by Kvaratskheliaโs agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and his father Badri, Napoli reiterates that the player has a three-year contract with the club,โ Napoli posted on social media.
โKvaratskhelia is not on the market. It is not the agents or fathers who decide on the future of a player under contract but Napoli!!! End of story.โ
