Chelsea legend, Eden Hazard has some words for Chelsea starman Cole Palmer after his impressive premier League runs this season.
Cole Palmer notched a Premier League record of four first-half goals as Chelsea rallied to a 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
According to Opta, Palmer became the first player to score four times in the first half of an English top-flight match as he found joy against The Seagulls at Stamford Bridge.
Moreover, Hazard praised Cole Palmer’s development in an interview with Footyvalid on Sunday (29 September). In the interview the former Chelsea Man said…
“Cole Palmer has grown into his own at Chelsea and he is the main man. You can’t leave him out of any team, and I am talking about England too.
“He is so gifted, he will have that awe around him so that players are afraid of him. If he continues like this, he going to be a legend of the Premier League.”
Palmer would ideally have liked to have tried to pick up where he left off on Saturday when Chelsea play host to Gent in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
However, Maresca has made the decision to rest Palmer from the league phase of that competition in the hope that it keeps him fresher during the back end of what could prove to be an exhausting campaign.
He has currently played 506 minutes in the Premier League, contributing an incredible six goals and four assists from his six starts in the competition.
His next outing is in line to be the home encounter against Nottingham Forest next Sunday.
