New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca could have a bit of a selection headache next season.
Enzo Maresca was appointed as Mauricio Pochettinoโs successor earlier this month after the Argentineโs exit by mutual consent, will be tasked with getting Chelsea back into the top four and the Champions League again.
Footyvaild Understands that in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, Maresca is going to have some big selection decisions to make at Chelsea.
This mainly includes deciding who to start in the No.10 role if he decides to play a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Though, Enzo Maresca has reportedly decided that Chelsea star Cole Palmer will be utilised in central areas next season, rather than out on the right wing.
The Chelsea player of the season, spent most of last season playing on the right wing, but the 22-year-oldโs best position is probably just behind the striker.
Palmer surprisingly scored 25 goals and registered 15 assists in 45 appearances for Chelsea last season, thriving playing on the right of Mauricio Pochettinoโs front three but being granted the freedom to roam inside and influence play.
The Englishman isย unlikely to struggle in midfield given that he has shown maturity beyond his years when being tasked with playing several different positions previously, including as a makeshift striker, though he may not be particularly pleased with such a drastic change being made following his stellar campaign.
