Chelsea’s attempts to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen have taken yet another twist in what has been a lengthy transfer saga so far this summer.
Sources told Footyvalid that Enzo Maresca is slightly worried about Chelsea NO.9 position with Guiu and Jackson being only the strikers in the Chelsea, though Nkunku and Felix can practically play as a false 9. But it’s said that Maresca is keen on a top quality striker as Chelsea’s main man.
Meanwhile, Five of the Blues eleven signings in the transfer window have been attacking additions but none of them have fixed their need for a traditional centre-forward option.
Chelsea are still hoping that with just a week to go in the summer transfer window, they can get a deal for Osimhen over the line after positive talks with Napoli over the past few weeks.
Though, Todd Boehly’s recent meeting with Napoli hierarchy it was stated that… “No changes on Victor Osimhen” Chelsea’s stance remains to get him on loan
Chelsea only want Osimhen on loan in the final days of the window, and Osimhen doesn’t want to go on loan as of today….. Popular transfer Journalist, FabrizioRomano confirmed.
Footyvalid understands that the apparent crawling nature of the negotiations led to a lot of frustration from Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca who made his anger around not having one of his priority targets this summer to start the season.
