Manchester United took first steps towards rebuilding their league campaign with a 3-0 win vs Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

Moreover the Erik Ten Hag’s team were hit with injuries during premier League encounter.

Matthijs De Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui and Harry Maguire all suffered injuries against Southampton this afternoon.

Three players were substituted after suffering knocks in the win at St. Mary’s, but Maguire saw out the remainder of the game after being brought on for Mazraoui in the 74th minute.

De Ligt’s injury is thought to be a cramp, however it was severe enough for him to taken off for Casemiro.

Perhaps Erik ten Hag was thinking of damage limitation, considering that United have four more fixtures to play over the next 15 days.

De Ligt seems to be ok after a minor scare, but the status of the other three players is currently unknown.

If they are unavailable for the midweek game, United’s injuy list would extend to nine players.

Ten Hag will be hoping that all four players recover quickly, after leading his side to their most convincing win of the season so far.
