England’s manager, Gareth Southgate gives his honest thoughts on Cole Palmer’s performance off the bench for England against Slovenia at the Euro 2024
At long last, Cole Palmer who’s the Chelsea’s player of the season was given an opportunity to make his mark for his country at Euro 2024.
The Ex City starboy had been forced to watch from the sidelines for the first two games, however he was finally given a chance to make an impact by Gareth Southgate.
A whole lot of fans were happy when the 22-Year-Old was subbed on to replace Saka, meanwhile the Englishman didn’t hesitate to perform when handed over 20 minutes to make his marks.
Another figure who was impressed was the Three Lions Coach Southgate, who said in multiple interviews to the BBC how promising Cole Palmer’s cameo was…
“He did very good. He finds space well and he makes chances and we were backing him to score at the end.
They are young players and we are blooding them in a difficult environment. They had a good impact for us and did good things for us… Gareth Southgate says
“Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo, it was a really good move. We have to build on that. There were a lot of things to build on from tonight… Gareth Added…..
Though the England team crawled their way to the knockout stages and now it seems like the Netherlands could be their last-16 opponent.
Moreover, Cole Palmer is easy on the eye, nothing much fazes him and he seems to be desperate to show what he is all about.
Given how Southgate operates, he will probably keep Palmer on the bench for the next match, but you are hoping he is off the bench sooner than the 71st minute.
