Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson was unable to score in his side’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth on Saturday.
However, premier League legend Ian Wright still liked what he was seeing from Nicolas Jackson during the game at the Vitality Stadium
The 23-year-old was eventually substituted for Christopher Nkunku, who went on to score the match-winner for Chelsea. His goal was set up by Jadon Sancho, who dazzled Chelsea supporters with his debut.
Wright, though, had some praise for Jackson during the Blues’ 1-0 win against Andoni Iraola’s men.
“He does make some good runs and I must commend him for that” Wright say…
“He just need a good striker to compete with him and also I’d love to see him play behind a target man” he added
The Senegal international had a few good chances against Bournemouth on Saturday that he could not convert.
Moreover, the former Villarreal striker just signed a nine-year contract extension at Chelsea, and he’s now showed the signs that maybe the Blues made a bad investment.
While Jackson like Cucurella always works very hard, when he gets the ball in the final third he lacks decisiveness.
In the 28th and 34th minutes Jackson could’ve had two goals, but ended up with nothing. When he was taken off Christopher Nkunku scored a goal in the box that Jackson might’ve squandered.
