Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has spoken after his heroics helped his side record a penalty shootout win over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round. The Turkish goalkeeper saved two penalties during the tie to ensure that his side progressed to the fourth round.
The Red devils backup goalkeeper was the hero for ten-man Manchester United as they claimed an impressive shootout victory over their rivals.
The Turkiye international saved a penalty from Martin Odegaard during the game before denying Kai Havertz during the shootout.
After the game, Bayindir spoke with the media about the impact he had on his team’s success.
The 26-year-old stated that all that matters to him is helping his team achieve its goals, pointing out that he recognizes the importance of staying ready at the club.
“I’m ready to compete with anyone, I just want to help everyone at this great football club! You have to be ready at every second if you are a Manchester United player,” Bayindir said…
Bayindir made six saves during the game, including one to deny Declan Rice from point-blank range in the second half.
The former Fenerbahce man showed his quality in the game, as he helped banish memories of the side’s exit from the Carabao Cup last month.
