Manchester City defender, John Stones has delivered a glowing assessment on the quality of Chelsea and England star Cole Palmer.
The England’s captain has praised England teammate Palmer for his approach to football on the biggest stage, comparing it to someone playing in the park.
“I was a huge fan of Cole as soon as he came into our first-team set up, what he brought to the game, how he played as if he was in the park,” Stones said, as quoted by The Express and Star.
“I was sad to see him leave, I made him aware of that, but what he has gone on and done is a credit to him, how he’s conducted himself, how he’s stepped up in big moments.
“He is in a good moment, and I hope that continues for as long as possible. Scoring in the final, he has experienced those big games now and big moments and hopefully there is more of that to come.”
Cole Palmer has been on a meteoric rise since Chelsea signed him from Man City in the summer of 2023. The left-footed attacker has scored 31 goals and created 20 assists in 54 Chelsea appearances in total.
Palmer has been named England Player of the Year this week as his list of individual accolades continues to pile up, but it feels like we’re still only at the beginning of what he can achieve.
