“Joy To Watch” Ruben Amorim Names The Player That Impressed Him Against Southampton

One Manchester United star has proven that Rúben Amorim made a huge mistake as his side were saved by Amad against Southampton on Thursday evening.

Though, Amad turned hero once again for Manchester United as a 12-minute hat-trick from the 22-year-old saw Rúben Amorim’s men sink Southampton in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim ignored Amad (despite his heroic performance) when naming the player that impressed him the most against the saints.

The Portuguese manager picked Joshua Zirkzee as his MOTM despite coming on in the second half.

When the line-ups were announced, many were surprised to see that Rasmus Højlund had started over Joshua Zirkzee despite the latter’s great cameo against Arsenal on the weekend.

Zirkzee was eventually brought on for the Danish international with 53 minutes on the clock, when it should have been a change that was made ahead of kick-off.

The Dutch forward went on to have a great game for United, and although Amad will take the prize for his talisman performance, Zirkzee deserves his flowers for reminding fans he’s an “unbelievable” footballer.

Speaking about Joshua Zirkzee’s performance, Ruben Amorim commend him in an interview with Footyvalid reporters after the game.

“Joshua is a joy to watch, you can see how he changed the game when he was introduced. That is the type of hard work we demand from the players”

“Our fans want to see much better football and I want to tell them that we are aware of that, but we need time. To gain time, we need to win games and that is what we are trying to do.” He added.

The ex Bayern Munich striker had 22 touches in his 37 minutes, creating two chances for his side when the team looked lost for answers.

He completed nine of his 12 attempted passes, had four touches in the opposition box, and made one pass into the final third.
