The Red Devils have always trawled the globe to find the hottest prospects in the world. It’s in the Red Devils’ DNA.
And now it’s been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano that Mali midfield, Sekou Kone is set to have a Man United medical next week, after a deal to join the Red Devils is totally done
Erik ten Hag has continued that mantra, bringing in players like Chido Obi-Martin, who has an incredibly high ceiling.
Kone currently plays for Guidars FC and impressed playing for Mali at the Under-17 World Cup in December, but he’s set to complete a transfer to United before deadline day
Although Erik ten Hag is in the market to sign a defensive midfielder and talks for Manuel Ugarte are progressing, the plan is for Kone to join up with the Under-21s.
It’s understood the 18-year-old is considered as a player with high potential by United staff and he’ll spend time training with the first-team at Carrington, which means he could be fast-tracked if he demonstrates he can operate at the level required around the senior group.
United are pressing ahead with other signings similar to Obi-Martin, with Sekou Kone next on the list.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on that front this morning, claiming that the deal to sign Kone is now ‘100% agreed and done’. The documents will be signed after the midfielder undergoes a medical next week
