N’Golo Kanté has expressed his feelings following the racist chants directed at Kylian Mbappé and the French national team by some members of the Argentine squad.
The chants, which have caused widespread condemnation, prompted Kanté to speak out against such behavior.
“I am deeply saddened and disappointed by the racist chants directed at Kylian Mbappé and our national team by some members of the Argentine squad,” Kante said.
“There is no place for racism in football or anywhere in society. We play this beautiful game to bring joy to fans and to unite people from all walks of life, regardless of their background or ethnicity.”
Kanté emphasized the harmful impact of racism on both individuals and the broader spirit of sportsmanship that football represents.
“Racism not only hurts individuals but also tarnishes the spirit of sportsmanship and unity that football embodies,” The Frenchman continued.
“We must all stand together to condemn such behavior and work towards a future where respect and equality are fundamental values on and off the pitch.
“I stand with Kylian and all my teammates in calling for an end to racism in football.”
With his statement, Kanté calls for unity and a collective effort to eradicate racism from the sport, underscoring the need for respect and equality in football and beyond.
