Ruben Amorim Makes Final Decision On Manchester United Goalkeeper Situation Ahead Of Lyon Clash

2 min read

It’s a big decision to be made by Ruben Amorim to choose which of the Red Devils Goalkeeper that’ll be in goal ahead of Manchester United’s crunch Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Both Andre Onana or Altay Bayindir have failed to live to the expectations since joining Manchester United under the management of Erik Ten hag.

Ruben Amorim took the Reds first choice, Andre Onana out of the firming line at Newcastle on Sunday after his two costly errors in the 2-2 draw in the first leg in France last week.

Meanwhile, Turkish international – Altay Bayindir conceded four goals in a chastening defeat at St James’ Park, infact he was to blame for Newcastle’s fourth after a poor pass.

Nevertheless, with an important Europa League quarter-final second leg to follow against Lyon on Thursday, Manchester United are keen to put defeat in the north-east quickly behind them.

But manager Ruben Amorim will now face a potentially season-defining decision of whether to recall Andre Onana to take his place as the clubs first choice GK or stick with Altay Bayindir and hope for a positive performance from the turkey international.

Meanwhile, a close source confirmed to Footyvalid reporters that, Cameronian Goalkeeper Andre Onana will be in goal against Lyon come Thursday night.

The Red Devils could have both Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton on the bench just in case a change is needed, which is very much unlikely.

THE PREDICTED LINEUP IS….

Onana;

Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro;

Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu;

Fernandes, Garnacho;

Hojlund
