Manchester United’s assistant manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy has praised Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee for his match winning goal to win the game for Manchester United in his first game for the Red Devils following his move from Italian out club, Bologna.
Joshua Zirkzee emerged as a hero in his Manchester United debut on Friday night by achieving something only three other Dutchmen have done at the club.
Manchester United needed the Dutch striker to come off the bench to score the only goal in a 1-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford. A heroic way to start the season and your chapter as a Red.
It was the new no.11 who secured three points when it looked like the game was going to end as a frustrating scoreless draw.
Zirkzee became the latest United player to score on his debut in the 1-0 win for United. He now joins the record books alongside club legend and assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
After the game, Ruud van Nistelrooy couldn’t stop praising the Dutch striker.
Speaking on an interview Ruud Van said….
Scoring for a striker is important and he should be where he was, but he has more qualities and he has to get the right balance – he has to be arriving in the box to get the finishes, but we also want him to link up. We have some great midfielders around him to make up combinations,”Â
After scoring against Fulham on his debut, Zirkzee joins Van Nistelrooy, Alexander Buttner and Donny van de Beek as Dutch players to score for United on their Premier League debut
