Despite the fact that Manchester City secured a well-deserved 2-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League opener, Pep Guardiola commended three Chelsea stars for their performance against his team.

Having won a record four Premier League titles on the bounce, Pep Guardiola and his men were eager to get their quest for number five off to a good start.

Pep Guardiola named Chelsea’s midfielder, Lavia, Cucurella and Malo Gusto as the match positivities despite Chelsea loss.

Speaking to the media… Guardiola commended the Chelsea trio by saying

They’re Dangerous to control, you can see what happened in the game… We’re Just Lucky to escape.

It’s said that the Enzo Maresca’s reign at Chelsea did not get off to the start many supporters will have been hoping for.

Goals from Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic got the reigning champions off to the perfect start as they kicked-off their Premier League campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Pep Guardiola’s City may’ve had more possession and held control for the majority of the game, but it was Chelsea who had the lion’s share of clear-cut opportunities.
